Care and maintenance advice
You have just purchased Rémy Garnier parts. Our team is delighted to count you among our customers.
Here are our suggestions for the proper care of your parts
Bronze is a living, porous material that absorbs the acidity of detergents.
We apply several types of finish to our bronze products, all of which require the same care.
We offer the following finishes:
- Varnished bronze
- Chrome
- Nickel
- Silver plating
- Gilding
The best way to care for your Rémy Garnier bronze pieces is simply to use a soft, clean cloth, and clean the piece to restore its shine.
Rub gently to avoid altering the bronze's patina or topcoat.
The cloth can be moistened with soapy water if necessary, wiped with a damp cloth, and dried with a dry cloth.
Warning
-Do not use abrasive household products, solvents or bleach to clean your decorative bronze pieces, unless Maison Rémy Garnier advises you to do so. These products can damage the protection and finish.
Do not use sharp or pointed objects such as keys, rings or the like, which could damage your pieces.
For fixtures and furniture:
Mirrors and glass can be cleaned with a specific household glass cleaner.
Wood is varnished, do not use waxes, simply clean with a clean cloth.
Marble: use a specific marble cleaner.
Over time, the finish - on contact areas such as handles, plates, knobs and door stops - naturally evolves with micro-scratches, develops a patina and can lose its original shine. To restore shine and patina, our workshop is at your disposal (stripping, polishing and decorating).
Maison Rémy Garnier cannot be held responsible for improper care of bronzes, which may lead to deterioration of the gilding and/or patina. We invite you to contact us if you would like us to restore your piece, which we can do after a feasibility study and acceptance of the estimate.
